We are very proud that St. ERHARD was featured in the Bayrischer Rundfunk (BR) last Sunday. It was a very interesting experience having a camera team filming us at work.
In this blog post I want to tell you more about this feature and how it was made.

We were really happy when the BR contacted us in October and told us that they want to do feature about us in Sunday’s Frankenschau. After we organized all the details we scheduled the date for the shoot. This shooting day was a really interesting experience because we had the chance to see behind the myth of television. At November, 6th a camera man, an audio engineer and a television journalist came to our office at the IGZ (Center for Innovations und New Ventures) in Bamberg.
Once we showed them around in our rooms, we directly started shooting. Time is money! After we were filmed in our office and our Founder Christan Klemenz was interviewed, we also decided to show the BR-Team our warehouse where our products are stored and prepared for the shipping to India and Hong Kong or to our costumers in Germany and the rest of Europe. Subsequently, we moved on to “Moe’s Bar” in Bamberg to shoot some scenes with the guests of Moe’s drinking our St. ERHARD.

This nearly whole day of shooting ended up in a very nice 5-minute feature about St. ERHARD in the Frankenschau at November, 24th .

Thanks again to the BR-Team for they great work. And now check out the video!

In a previous blog post we explained to you the origins and characteristics of the Oktoberfest in Munich.
On the 6th of October this Munich Oktoberfest closed its doors after two weeks of enjoying German beer tradition. During these two weeks 6,4 million people visited the Oktoberfest area on the Theresienwiese in Munich and these visitors were very hungry and thirsty. In total they ate 114 ox and 58 calves. Furthermore they drank 6,7 million “Maß” (1-liter-glass) of beer. This is equivalent to 20,3 million bottles of St. ERHARD. That is an amazing amount. Unfortunately St. ERHARD was not available at the “Wiesn” in Munich. However our sponsoring of the Oktoberfest of the German embassy in New Delhi was a great success. While drinking a tasty St. ERHARD, our Founder and CEO Christian Klemenz could celebrate together with Gul Panag (former Miss India), the German ambassador in India Michael Steiner, Vikanshu (co-founder) and his brother Aayush, Aline (our management trainee), our business angel Günter Wiskot, a german live-band and a lot of other nice people. Check out the pictures on facebook!

Now by the time the Oktoberfest in Munich is finished, in Franconia it is time for another traditional beer period: The “Bockbier” time!
Bockbier is a stronger beer with at least 6,5% vol. of alcohol. Originally brewed with a high original wort for an extended shelf life, nowadays Bockbier is a delicacy for German and overseas beer fans. Every old brewery in the area of Bamberg has its own Bockbier as one of their flagship beers. Particularly in autumn and the beginning winter, Bockbier is very popular for warming the cold throats with its high alcohol concentration.

Our business angel Günter Wiskot from Karlsruhe was one of the two finalists for the “Goldene Nase” prize awarded by the business angel network Germany (BAND). Congratulations for that!

After he studied computer science and engineering management at the well-known KIT, Günter Wiskot founded different IT-companies. In 2003 he changed his role in these companies from the operative management to the Board of Directors and started his activities as a business angel.

A business angel is a private investor who finances start-ups and supports them with know-how and business contacts at the same time. So beside his financial support Günter Wiskot supports St. ERHARD with his knowledge about the Indian market, his entrepreneurial talent and strategic business thinking. He also played a significant role in finding another business angel for our second round of financing. Due to these facts we recommended Günter Wiskot for the prize “Goldene Nase”. Since 2001 the BAND bestows the “Goldene Nase” to very successful business angels with a great entrepreneurial sense every year. Through investing in great start-ups with innovative ideas and an already successful solid business and a promising future the awarded business angels show their special business expertise.
